Russian Railways prolongs 7% discount on coal transportation to ports

MOSCOW, Sep 2 (PRIME) -- Russian Railways will prolong a 7.41% discount to the export tariff for transportation of steam coal to the ports of the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea until the end of 2019, the company said in a statement on Monday.

The company introduced the discount in July taking into account unfavorable pricing conditions on Western coal markets. The discount allowed companies to cushion an 8% export markup introduced earlier in 2019 and to raise loading of coal to the ports.
